Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Saleina and Cora

Age: 8-10

Saleina

"Hi, I'm Saleina. I like to sing and go outside and look at nature, because nature is awesome. What I think about the world is that it's a great place to be and if you want to be on planet Earth, then that's where you are. Make sure you treat it with respect. Some ways you can do that is no littering, because it ruins the environment. The environment is a great place to be and tons of animals are around you. I learned about all this because I go out and look at nature all the time.

I kind of like school. My favorite subject is recess. I also like reading and music. My favorite thing about Cora is she is really fun, she's crazy cool, and she also likes nature.

A family should know that I love birds, animals...anything that walks, crawls, moves, or does anything on the ground. What a family should really know about me is that I really love dogs. I would like a dog or a cat as a pet. I love cheetahs and I also love jaguars and wolves. If they got me a dog that looked exactly like a wolf puppy, I'd be happy. I'd be really happy. Because I love wolves. If they got me a cat that looked like a cheetah or a jaguar, I'd go crazy."

Cora

"My favorite subject is math and I'm really good at it. I love recess, too.

My favorite color is blue--a light, light blue like a sapphire. I like nature. I like flowers. I like all colors, except for darkness, like dark black. But if it was a light black, I'd like it. I'm not sure about brown.

I like playing the Wii, and I also like taking a daily stroll. I have this road that I can walk down, if a teenager or an adult comes with me. I can walk down that road and get the mail. It's pretty cool.

My favorite thing about my sister is that she's kind, loving, sweet and I love her.

I like school. Recess is my favorite. My friends would describe me as kind, sweet, loving, caring, and nice."

These sisters are close--no doubt about it. They can also be competitive rivals. That's why consistent, patient, understanding parents could make such a difference in their lives! A mom and a dad who set rules and help them take turns would assure that the good times outweigh the disagreements. Both girls look forward to having their own room. They are sure that would "keep the peace" if they had their own space.

These precocious girls are making good progress in a therapeutic foster family whose parenting skills match their emotional needs. Boundaries and personal safety are an everyday focus. An adoption team will be especially considering home studies that reflect prior parenting or professional experience and an understanding of the coping mechanisms children develop within a traumatic childhood. Saleina and Cora's adoptive folks must be able to respond in healthy, healing ways to attention-seeking behaviors and emotional needs. For parents who are not tentative about accessing community and professional services, these charismatic sisters will bring love and laughter to your home.
