Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Justin

Age: 15

"My name is Justin. I like to fish and hunt, and I'd like to live in a family who likes to camp. I'd really like to have a dad who can spend time playing football and basketball with me and a mom who will be there for me and who can help me with things I need help with. I'd maybe like to join the army one day and be in the special forces. I'm really looking for the opportunity to start over and have a new beginning with a family. I think it would be cool to have siblings. I love being around animals, especially dogs and horses, and I think it'd be great to live in the country. I am a laid back and calm person, and I have learned to control my anger. I like math class the most at school, and it's my highest grade."

Justin would do well with a single dad or a strong couple adept at working with teenage challenges. Having good skills in advocating for services and teaching life skills will be just the ticket for this "laid back" young man. His adoption team might consider a family that could be a therapeutic foster home currently, with future plans for guardianship or adoption. For Justin, it is all about belonging to a family and having folks who can help him prepare for adulthood.

Justin has worked hard in a group program that's helping him deal with issues of the past and look forward to the future. He's proud of the progress he's made, especially his ability to help others and to work toward the whole group's success. With a parent or couple that has a high level of skill or willingness to learn what he needs, i.e. listening to Justin and to his counselors and responding to his needs, Justin could achieve that "new beginning" he's got his eye on.

If you have a desire to make a difference in a young man's life, Justin is ready to teach you what he's learned about self-control, setting goals and working through frustration. If you happen to have a basketball hoop or a stretch of lawn and an arm for football Justin is ready to "go long" with your family.
