Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Jaime, Alondra, Alex & Maereli

Ages: 1-7

These adorable children's adoption team will only consider Spanish-speaking families as an adoptive resource at this time. With your fluent Spanish, could you help these children adjust to English in a school setting? Do you have the skills to gently transition a toddler from "grandparent" caregivers she has known since birth to a lifetime family that can meet each child's individual needs? If so, call Idaho CareLine now!

Jaime
Age: 7

Jaime is an inquisitive, energetic and good-natured boy. He likes to play with action figures, toy cars and trucks. His favorite cartoons are SpongeBob SquarePants and the Smurfs.

Jaime enjoys the outdoors. Playing on his swing set is serious business and a boy really works up an appetite! Jaime satisfies his love of eating with Mexican food, prepared by his foster mom. He also likes hamburgers from MacDonald's.

Now that Jaime has completed Kindergarten, he is looking forward to 1st grade in the fall. He is learning English and doing well in school.

Jaime was born in Mexico and came to the United States in February 2007. His adoption team feels it is in all of the children's best interest to be adopted by a couple that is Spanish-speaking or bilingual. One crucial component of the family these children could thrive in would be folks who are committed to preserving their sibling bond. It is the one constant in all their lives!

Because of trauma Jaime has experienced, he will need experienced parents who are confident about teaching dependable personal boundaries. All of the children will need a parental monitoring plan that lets them know their bedroom is a comforting, safe place to sleep and that children and parents respect personal space.

The Department is currently working on getting Jaime Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Currently, legal risk exists with all of the children. A pre-adoptive family must be willing to wait patiently for them to be freed for adoption. Meanwhile, Jaime needs support and guidance as he learns English.

Alondra
Age: 4

Alondra is a happy, loving, affectionate girl. She likes to play with dolls, watch cartoons, play outside on her swing set, and color, draw and finger paint. She likes Mexican food and loves candy! Alondra is in good health and has no behavioral issues. Currently, she attends Head Start, where she is learning English. She was born in the United States and is a natural citizen.

Alex
Age: 2

Alex is a sensitive, loving, sweet-natured boy. He likes to play with his siblings, watch cartoons, play on his swing set and draw.

Alex is in good physical health. He had some dental problems that were recently corrected. He has no behavioral issues.

Alex has not learned English yet. He is not in school and his current foster home is Spanish-speaking only. Alex was also born in the United States. He shares a room with his older sister, Alondra, and does well with this arrangement. Alex cries easily and seems to need the extra comfort of Alondra's presence, plus attention from his caregivers. When his siblings cry, tender-hearted Alex will cry right along with them.

Maereli
Age: 1

Maereli is a cuddly, affectionate, and generally contented infant. She likes to play in her walker, where she is drawn to colorful rattles and toys that make noise.

Maereli is in good physical health and is learning to crawl. She was born in the United States and came into foster care immediately after her birth. The only parents she has ever known are her foster parents, whom she adores! Her adoptive family will need to carefully transition her into their family in order to build healthy attachment and bonding. They would like to maintain a "grandparent" relationship with the children.

Maereli sleeps through most of the night in her crib and goes down for a nap easily. This little one loves attention! Usually happy, Maereli can become fussy if she can't see her caregivers at all times. Once she is picked up or sees them back in the room, she charms everyone with her adorable smile or giggles.
