Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Tyler

Age: 15

"I'm Tyler, and I'm a collector. I collect a lot of different things, like Magic: The Gathering, Yugioh, and Pokemon cards. Actually, I don't really collect Yugioh anymore, because they ruined the game, and I only collect older, rarer Pokemon cards. But I really like playing Magic and collecting the cards. I also collect old and antique lighters, like Zippo lighters. I have an antique Bentley lighter, as well. And BB guns and airsoft guns. I have a 1941 Red Ryder BB gun that was given to me. I also have a 1959 Willie Mays baseball card. Comic books are fun, too. Deadpool and Spawn are my favorites.

I want a family that is kind and will treat me like their own child. Maybe being an only child would be best, so I don't get treated like I don't belong by the other kids. I'd also like a family that is financially secure. One place where I lived, the parents were really stressed out about money, and it really affected me. I don't want to have to be stressed out over stuff like that.

My mom is a big part of my life, and I also talk a lot with my grandfather. I would have to have a family that would let me see my mom and keep in contact with other family members. That's really important to me.

I think I'm nice, but I can be a real pain sometimes. I'll come around, though. I just need parents who will be patient with me."

Tyler is a very nice boy who, when he is happy and his mood is stable, can be very engaging, cooperative, and funny. He has suffered a great deal of loss and trauma in his life and sometimes struggled with those issues. He needs parents who can help him deal with his loss and who will help turn him from his behavior so that he can be patient and more easily satisfied with what he has.

This young teen has a lot of anxiety. Parents who can be patient with him and who understand how to deal with attachment issues and ADHD will be a great help. He would prefer to have a mom and a dad, or even a single mother. He would do best as an only child, or possibly a much younger child, so he doesn't have to compete for attention or affection. Parents will need to be able to focus on him and his needs and provide unconditional love and support. Tyler needs to know more than anything that his adoptive parents will not give up on him or abandon him.

Tyler still has regular contact with his mother in the Boise area, as well as phone contact with his grandfather. He needs a family that will help him maintain these connections, and even facilitate visits, if needed.

Tyler is a friendly young man who can be quite engaging. With parents who won't give up on him and who will love and support him unconditionally will be a huge help to him as he continues along his teen years. If you think you are the family for Tyler, call the Idaho CareLine today.
