Alexas

"Hello. I'm Alexas. I am a girly-girl and I like pink. Most of the time I act like a princess; sometimes I have a harder time. I like to read and play games...I don't like math or peas. I want a family who will let me have a pink wall in my room. You will never have to worry about asking me to clean my room, I like to be neat.

I want my new family to be friends with my foster family. I would like to stay in my current school and community. Someday I want to have a kitty, dog and a hamster. I really like animals. The neighbor cat often follows me down the sidewalk. I like to pat his tummy. I like to watch Hannah Montana and High School Musical. My favorite Disney Princess is Belle because she likes to read. I have an escaping giggle and am happy most of the time; although, sometimes I need all of the attention.

I feel safe when everything is "just so"...I like to color inside the lines and I like to have perfect days. I need a mom who will help me realize I don't have to be perfect. I am happy when I do things well...I am not happy when I make mistakes. I have high expectations for my self but I also hold others to those expectations. My new mom will need to help me be accepting of others and myself."

Alexas' social worker says Alexas would benefit from continued contact with her foster parents. She would thrive in a home in the Treasure Valley. She says Alexas has a good heart, is genuinely endearing and cares for others. She thrives on praise, affection and positive reinforcement. Her feelings are hurt easily by rejection and she often takes things too personally. She will need to be parented by either a single mother or couple with no children in the home. A family who has grown children would a good match for Alexas. A consistent routine helps Alexas manage her behaviors. However, this child would not do well in a home that is too rigid. Power struggles often come up but can be avoided by offering her choices and time to process.

Alexas' adoption team is looking for a single mother or two-parent family with parenting experience where Alexas can be an only child or the only child in the home. She would benefit from a family that is open to participating in counseling, medication management, Psycho-Social Rehabilitation, Service Coordination and academic support.

If you are interested in helping this young "princess" find her family, she will warm your heart with many giggles and bring many smiles. She may try your patience at times, but a family who could help her overcome her challenges to reach her potential would be rewarded many times over.
