Destiny

Age: 9

"My name is Destiny and I like to ride my bike, play princesses with the neighbors and sing. I like to go swimming, camping, looking for rocks and shells, going to the beach and gardening with families. I don't really like hiking.

I would like to live with kids who are close to my age, preferably girls. I would like a mom and a SAFE dad---and one girl teenager. The teenager can help put make up on me and go shopping with me. The thing I value most in a mom and dad is love. I really value a safe dad.

If I was a mom my rules would be: no running in the house, girls in one room and boys in the other, finish homework before TV, no fighting, obey me. I wouldn't have to worry about them saying bad words because they won't know any!

I would really like to do snorkeling, go on a cruise boat and go to Disney World. My favorite subject in school is reading and my least favorite is spelling. I like Christian rock and worship music. I like to do motions and dance to it. I like country music, too. My favorite foods are spaghetti with meatballs, top ramen, macaroni and cheese, strawberry shortcake and rocky road ice cream.

I would really like pets! I like horses, dogs and cats. I would like to live on a farm. I know how to rides horses, and I like doing it. I would like a pet of my own---like a pinto horse or a pug dog.

When I go to bed at night, I like my mom to scratch my back and sing to me. I would like a dad to go fishing and play baseball with me. I would like to take horseback riding lessons, be on a softball team and take swimming lessons. If I get an adoptive family, I will be kind to them."

Destiny's social worker describes her as "a special and resilient young lady." She has made great strides in her treatment and will need a family who can assist her in continued growth by helping her receive community supports, such as counseling and medication management. She will also need a family who can support her continued appropriate contact with her biological brothers. Destiny's adoption team will be looking for a loving family who can provide a structured and nurturing environment for this engaging, wonderful girl.

Destiny is available for adoption through the State of Oregon. For contact information, please contact the Idaho CareLine at 1-800-926-2588.
