Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Teasha

Age: 13

"My name is Teasha, and I think the most important thing about me is that I love to be active. I don't like doing nothing. That gets me depressed. I want a family that will unplug the cable and go out and do things together. Swimming, playing sports...anything active. I don't want to sit around all day and watch TV. I do like to sleep, though. And I can get cranky if I don't get enough, or when I just wake up.

I love to cook. Eggrolls are my favorite, and I like spaghetti and burritos, too. I like to dance and listen to Hip-Hop. And I love to laugh! Others would say I'm easy to get along with. I try to be friendly and get along with everyone. Except bugs. They creep me out. But I do love animals, like dogs and horses. Two things I've never done that I've always wanted to do is ride a horse and drive a go-kart.

I'm nervous about being on Wednesday's Child, but I'm excited, too. I want a family like I'm with now. The parents I imagine will be nice and won't ground me for my whole life. They'll help me with my homework to get good grades. And they'll be strict. Not in a mean way, but they will have to have rules and chores for me to do. I like doing my chores, like taking out the garbage, setting the table, and cleaning the bathroom. I would also like to have brothers and sisters. Being the oldest would be great. I love to babysit, especially because of the money!"

Teasha's worker describes her as "fun, bubbly, and super-sweet." She is easy to get along with and usually seems to have a smile. She needs a strong family that has experience or knowledge raising a teen-age girl who has had a very poor life. Teasha has suffered many loses and needs structure in a family that can focus attention on her and understand her needs.

Teasha has a brother who is being adopted, and she really wants to keep contact with him. Because of this important connection, Teasha's case worker would prefer to find a home for her in the Southern Idaho area.

Because her father passed away when she was a baby, Teasha was never able to have a relationship with a father. A mother and father would be ideal for Teasha so she could develop a daughter-father relationship. If need be, however, a family with a single mother could work well for her.

Though she may at times struggle with getting depressed and down on herself, Teasha is an out-going, fun girl who loves to be active and spend time with other people. A structured, active family that can focus on her needs will be a great help to Teasha as she continues on in her teen years. If you think you can be that family for Teasha, call the Idaho CareLine today.
