Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Zach

Age: 7

"My name is Zach, and I love superheroes, like Batman and Iron Man. I also like watching Scooby Doo. That song is fun to sing. Puzzles and games are fun, too. And playing Wii. I like to do that. After school, I like to play outside and jump on the trampoline and ride bikes."

Zach is a very sweet, social boy with a good sense of humor and a great deal of energy. He is very smart and does well in school, though he has an IEP to help him with speech and behavior. He is eager to please and enjoys interacting with peers and adults.

Though Zach enjoys playing with younger children, his adoption team is looking for a two parent family that doesn't have other children, or that has children significantly older than Zach. His energy and needs will require two parents who can focus on his needs and give him the individual attention he needs.

Zach's behavior has improved significantly in his current foster placement. He responds very well to strict structure and routine, where consequences are consistently and lovingly applied. Zach wants a family that is active and likes to do a lot of different things. He can get easily overwhelmed when frustrated or confused, so patience and understanding will be very important. A gentle, but firm, hand can help Zach when a tantrum might be his first impulse.

This young man can be a handful at times, but he has come a long way in recent months. He will require a good deal of energy and focus, but he is also a lot of fun to be around. His sweet nature and easy smile will be a consistent reward for the family willing to give Zach the structure, support, and nurturing he needs. If you can be this family, call the CareLine now.
