Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Auston

Age: 11

"Hi, I'm Auston. My favorite things that I really like are building stuff, playing video games, riding my new scooter, playing with my friends, swimming, and going to scouts. I REALLY love scouts because I get to do a lot of fun things like go camping and swimming. Two things that I really want in a family is to have a dog. It needs to be a boy so I can name him Buddy and he should be about 4 year old. I also really want a dad to take me fishing! A nice mom will cook for me, play games with me and give me hugs. A dad will teach me things and do things with me."

Auston is a wonderful young boy with a great sense of humor. He is very fun to be around and is pleasant and happy most of the time. Auston is very good at figuring out how things work, and will take things apart just to see how they work and to put them back together again. He is social and affectionate, enjoys the company of other children and plays well with peers. He is typically a follower and is easily swayed by other kids and adults, so having good role models for Auston is important.

Auston would do best in a two parent home where he can have both a father and a mother equally invested in parenting him. They should be nurturing, loving, affectionate, consistent, active, patient and flexible.

Auston does best when he knows what to expect, and has plenty of time to prepare for even small transitions. He has a very big imagination so a family that can help him develop that in healthy ways would be good. He also needs a very active family who will play with him, take him fishing, hiking, camping, swimming, bike riding, and support his continued involvement in organized activities like scouts and church.

Auston will need a skilled family who can remain calm when his energy level is high, and who can help him find productive outlets for that energy. He would do great in a home with older children, and gets along especially well with girls. He would also be a good big brother to much younger children. He loves the twin baby girls in his foster home right now, and he is very gentle and helpful with them. He will need a slow transition into a new family, and keeping a strong connection with his foster mom, as a grandma figure, will be beneficial to Auston.

This young man is sweet, funny, and fun to be with. If you can provide Auston with structure, a lot of activity, and the love, patience, and flexibility he needs, he will treat your family with much laughter, affection, imagination, and energy! Contact the CareLine today if you think you can provide the family setting Auston needs.
