Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Jamareon

Age: 9

"Hi! My name is Jamareon. I was born to play football! I also like basketball and swimming. I love to play video games and play with friends. I love to eat cookies dipped in milk."

Jamareon is generally a happy child with a ready smile and an infectious laugh. He likes to help and at times is eager to please. He is very social and active. He thrives on individual one-on-one attention. He loves it when his foster dad tickles him. He is well-liked by adults, particularly those working with him in school, sport teams, Cub Scouts, and church.

Jamareon is bright and does well in school and has good academic potential. He hopes to continue in the scouting program. He is very athletic and enjoys sports. He loved playing flag football, T-ball, soccer, and basketball. He loves jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike, and swimming. He would do well in an athletic-minded family that will support his participation in sports.

Jamareon hopes to stay in close contact with his current foster family after he's adopted.

He should be the youngest or only child. Because of his early childhood trauma, Jamareon can be immature for his age and is still learning necessary relationship skills; however, he desperately wants to be loved. Parents will need to have a strong understanding of attachment difficulties and know how to effectively handle outbursts of anger and frustration. His new family will need time and patience as Jamareon continues to heal and mature.

Given the many early years of disrupted attachment and multiple moves, Jamareon especially needs parents who will be absolutely committed to him. Jamareon's adoption team is looking for a skilled, stable couple or single parent with a solid support system who is willing to provide Jamareon what he really deserves, a permanent family of his own.
