Cody

Age: 12

Cody is a sweet young man whose bright grin and shy demeanor will capture any parent's heart. He desires to have a family that are avid outdoors people. He loves biking, hiking, camping, hunting, and 4-wheeling. He also enjoys playing basketball and video games. Cody would like brothers and sisters (preferably brothers). He would do fine with children at either end of the spectrum as he would play well with younger ones, but could learn much from the mentoring of an older sibling as well.

Cody is 12 years old, but physically and emotionally he is around 7-8 years. He needs parents who are patient with his true abilities and challenges. He would benefit from parents who have the right balance of love and boundaries, can explain things in a way that Cody will understand, and will not fault him when he does not grasp something that other children his age understand easily. He will need support well into adulthood, so a family who is in it for the "long haul" is the right fit for him.

Either a single parent family or a couple would fit the bill for Cody. He has some telephone contact with his birth mom and his younger sister who has been adopted by her foster family, and he has expressed a desire to maintain these important connections.
