Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Aaron

Age: 13

Aaron is a delightful young man with bright blue eyes and a winning smile, which is often present. He is generally polite, engaging, social, a bit shy, and eager to please. He is thoughtful and giving, and wants to be a good example for others who are struggling. Aaron introduces himself this way.

"Hi, I'm Aaron. Some things I want families to know about me are that I am hard working, eager, and determined. My friends would say that I'm willing to compromise when needed, and that I'm funny, intelligent, and caring. I enjoy hanging out with friends, fishing, playing games, running, and reading historical and 'realistic' fiction books. I also like to skate and bowl, and would like to visit the ocean sometime. I enjoy gardening, and like to help choose what vegetables to plant. I also love dogs! I like cats, too, but I'm allergic to them, so can't have a cat. My favorite class in school has been Wood Shop, and I want to be a construction worker when I grow up."

Aaron enjoys participating in Boy Scouts, and especially enjoyed going to scout camp last summer. He hopes to continue his advancement in Scouts, and stated that he just received his Tender Foot award. Aaron would love a family that would take him camping and let him use the knowledge and skills he is learning in Scouts.

Aaron describes the qualities he would like in a family. "I would like a mother who is assertive, caring, and fun. I think I would like a father who is dedicated and organized. It's important to have a family who is honest, helpful to their community, respectful to themselves and others, and to their environment." Aaron further states, "A parent could teach me the skills I need to know so I can teach my kids those skills someday."

One of Aaron's most positive qualities is his desire and effort to improve himself. He is open to counseling, treatment, feedback from service workers and even peers, and because of his openness and efforts, he is beginning to make great strides in treatment.

Aaron is hoping to stay in Idaho so that he can continue contact with his younger brother and some other key people. However, he would consider moving out of the state if the right family came along. He does have grandparents in Wisconsin that he has regular contact with, and will need a family that will support Aaron's relationship with them, and other important people in his life.

If you are ready to support a bright, loving, eager young man into adulthood, Aaron might be the right choice for you! His love of life, winning smile, and desire to be his best, make him a great candidate for a loving family like yours.
