Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Kelly

Ages: 10

"Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm a pretty good student at school and I like to get good grades. I'm also a good friend and get along well with kids at school. I like animals, especially dogs. I like video games, movies and playing with LEGO. I would like to have an iPod Touch or an iPhone some day with lots of games on it."

With a charming smile, good manners and open personality, Kelly is a boy who gets along with young and old alike. He prides himself on being a role model, especially for his eight-year-old brother, Joseph. He is tolerant of Joseph's impulsive behavior and tries to be a good brother.

Although Kelly and Joseph's needs require two individual adoptive families, Kelly would like to maintain frequent contact and visits with Joseph. Kelly's adoption team will be looking for two special families to make that connection for both of these boys.

Kelly might do well in a family where he is an only child—a situation that suited him well in a previous foster home. His desire for positive adult attention seems well suited to this environment. His caseworker thinks he could also do well as the oldest child or the very youngest child in a family, as long as there's plenty of quality time and attention. He really thrives on it!

Kelly needs a single parent or couple that would not be reluctant to seek therapeutic assistance if Kelly felt he needed extra help. Because he sometimes internalizes his feelings, he needs a confidante who can guide him in the right direction and help him express emotions.

Kelly is a boy with many winning ways that might recommend him to the right family. If you're ready to make a solid commitment to him and provide a connecting bridge to his brother, Kelly is ready to join your family.
