Nick

Ages: 16

"Hello, my name is Nick. I am good at sports and I like to run fast! I like hanging out with brothers close to my age. I am also good at being an older brother. I would like a family who has fun on the weekends and who encourage me to be active in sports. I am having a difficult time deciding what I want to be when I grow up. I either want to test video games or be in the Marines. I want to help save peoples lives by being a solider."

Nick's caseworker describes him as an "active, caring, handsome and sensitive young man who needs a family to count on and who will count on him." Nick is willing to try new things. He is determined and doesn't give up easily. He gets along well with his peers and enjoys social outings. This young man has experienced loss and disappointments over the years, but he continues to engage and become attached to caring adults. Nick very much wants to belong to a family.

Recently, this young man was diagnosed with a seizure disorder that was disrupting his sleep patterns. Nick was placed on anti-seizure medication and this has helped him sleep and caused great changes in his ability to manage stressful situations. Nick has made great strides in implementing coping skills, good sportsmanship, and working on his behavioral challenges. Nick has developed a great deal of insight into his challenges.

Nick's adoption team is looking for a family who is willing to continue accessing community resources, including medication management and counseling. Providing contact with important people in Nick's life will help to maintain continuity for this charming teenager. If you are an family who wants to help guide this young man into adulthood and provide him with unconditional love and stability, then he will provide bottomless amounts of joy.
