Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Julie

Age: 16

"My name is Julie. I love puppies and horses. It was really fun spending time with the horses at Mini Joys. They're so cute. I also love doing things outside, like camping and sports. My favorite sports are basketball, soccer, and even some football! Maybe that's why P.E. is my favorite subject in school. I don't really like Science and Math, though.

I'd like to have a family with a mom and a dad, and maybe where I could have older brothers. Hopefully, that family will like to travel and go on vacation. I want to go to Hawaii and Las Vegas. I like traveling, and I've never been to either of those places.

I'm not sure what I want to be when I'm older. I wanted to be a singer, but I don't know if I'll make that. I might like to train horses. I really enjoy being around them."

Julie is a trustworthy and honest girl who is fun to be around. Though she has suffered through several big losses in her life, she still has a strong desire to be part of a family.

This young woman could really use a family that is active and can cater to her outdoor interests, like swimming and camping. She wants to be able to travel and visit new places. Julie would like a family with a mom and a dad that already has kids. She has mentioned wanting older siblings, but she does really well with younger children. She also has older siblings who are over 18 and still part of her life. Her family will need to work with them and Julie to establish boundaries so that they can remain a part of her life but still allow Julie to be an active participant in her new adoptive family.

Julie struggles with anger at times. Her adoptive parents will need to know how to calm her down and be patient at those times, helping her work through her frustrations. Because of previous parenting earlier in life, Julie is behind educationally.

This fun girl has a lot of interests and a strong desire to share them with parents and siblings. Patient parents who can understand anger and loss issues will find her to be a wonderful addition to the family, with her good sense of humor and attitude. She is an honest, loyal young woman and seeks those qualities in a mom and a dad. If you think you can provide all this, call the CareLine today.
