Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

December & Austin

Age: 7 - 9

December

"My name is December, but I like to be called D.C. I like to do almost anything. I like to draw and spend time with my friends doing what they want to do; I just like to go with the flow. I like to color and to play with blocks. I also like to do girly things like play dress up. Don't forget, I like to go fishing, too."

December is a quiet girl at first but warms up quickly. She is very versatile and gets along well with others. She is good at math in school and she hates macaroni and cheese. She wants a mom and a dad to spend time with her and give her the attention she craves. She would also like to be placed with her little brother Austin. December needs a family who will help her learn to share attention with others.

Austin

"My name is Austin. I like to throw the football and to go fishing. I really like to ride my bike and play video games. I love D.C."

Austin is a sweet boy who can be very silly. He is a good reader and has come a long way in this area. He enjoys reading and is proud of his progress. He would rather read than do math. He doesn't like to eat pizza. Austin needs a family who will help him control his impulsiveness and build his confidence. This will help him gain the skills he needs to seek positive attention from others.

December and Austin are very bonded and need to stay together. They need a family who can help them develop new skills by using their strengths to cope with their hyperactivity, impulsiveness and loss issues.

The adoption team will be looking for a traditional family who has much younger children or much older children. December and Austin need parents who have the time and energy to help these children reach their potential. They will also need to be skilled in working with children who struggle with attention getting, medication management, impulsiveness, and who can handle sibling rivalry and the day-to-day bickering that comes with a sibling set this close in age.

If you are a family that can have strong boundaries, provide unconditional love, nurturing, commitment, dedication and fortitude, you may be just what this sibling group needs to help them realize their dreams for a family and a bright future.
