Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Lexi

Age: 7

Lexi is a cute little girl with pixie like features, an impish smile, and enchanting big brown eyes. She can be shy and cautious around unfamiliar people, but very loving and affectionate with those close to her. Lexi is described as a spunky child who enjoys playing with toys, jumping on the trampoline, and doing gymnastics and dancing. She is artistic and enjoys drawing and coloring and stated that art is her favorite subject in school. Lexi also enjoys going boating with her family.

Lexi's adoption team is looking for a two-parent family, with or without other children, where Lexi can be the youngest. A family that lives in southwest Idaho, or within a few hundred miles of that area, would be ideal, as Lexi has very strong connections with her grandparents and a brother who lives with her grandparents. Lexi will require a family who is patient, nurturing, committed, and who can introduce and be consistent with family rules and boundaries.

Lexi should thrive in a structured environment with clear communication, good role-modeling, and clear, appropriate expectations and consequences. She also needs a family who is familiar with food and environmental allergies, asthma, and eczema, as Lexi suffers from severe allergy induced eczema. A family who can work with Lexi to overcome issues of grief and loss, as well as a family that is knowledgeable about ADHD, anxiety, defiant behaviors, and fostering healthy attachments, will be a must.

Lexi has a lot to offer a family who can provide her the safety, love, acceptance, boundaries, and the commitment she deserves. If you think you can be that family for Lexi, we would like to hear from you. To find out more about Lexi, please call the Idaho Careline.
