Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Zoey & Brandon

Age: 7-10

Profile and Portrait provided by NWAE.

Zoey and Brandon are both amazing children with unique personalities that instantly grab you. Their innocent child-like spirits are reminders of the simple joys in life, and the amazing bond that siblings can have. While these two have a great relationship and connection when playing together, separately they tend to gravitate towards different activities and pursue different interests.

Zoey is happy to play with friends, be read to and play with dolls. Zoey also loves to nurture her femininity. For example, Zoey would be delighted to have someone style her hair and put fingernail polish on her fingers and toes. She enjoys shopping for clothes and likes to feel pretty. On the other end of the spectrum, Brandon loves to romp outside, to be read to, play video games, or zoom his toy trucks and cars. He also loves to draw and is very talented at drawing and coloring.

Zoey and Brandon are aware that they are foster children, and are excited about the thought of having a "forever family." When asked what she would like in a family, Zoey responded that, "I mainly want them to be nice." Zoey and Brandon also have another older sibling, Mystica, who they are very connected with. It will be important for a family to ensure that these siblings maintain a relationship, even if they are not placed together.

It would be helpful for Zoey and Brandon's adoptive parent(s) to be educated about what some children in foster care experience, and prepared to address the complex emotions, thoughts, and feelings associated with these past experiences. Parents need to be able to set limits in a firm yet loving manner. Zoey and Brandon's future family will need to have a lot of love, patience, and understanding to give them. In return, this wonderful sibling group will give back and be a wonderful addition to a family.
