Kayla

Ages: 15

"Hi, I'm Kayla. I like to play piano, basketball, read, write, skateboard, and sing in the school choir. I really love to do anything creative. I'm a little shy and reserved when I first meet new people, but my friends would say I'm outgoing and funny.

I'm hoping for a family with a mom who is caring, loving, supportive, and someone who will talk to me and teach me things. I'd love to have a dad who is fun, always there when I need him, and even when I don't! I love kids, and hope to have a family with brothers and sisters. I am LDS and my faith and church attendance is really important to me, so I need a family who will support me in continuing to attend the LDS church. I also need a family who will allow me to stay in touch with some important people in my life.

I want a family who will be active and who spends time together. I love outdoor activities and hope to have a family who knows how to laugh and play together. Something that I want people to know about me is that I'm not a perfect kid, but I try really hard and I just want a family that will love me forever and be the parents I need."

Kayla's quiet sweetness and desire to please others and do what's right are just a few of her many admirable qualities. She is immediately endearing, and that likeableness only increases as you spend time with her. But don't let the initial quietness fool you. She can also be talkative, funny, social and confident. She has overcome much loss and rejection in her young life, and it has taken her a lot of time and hard work to overcome issues of trust and self worth.

Kayla has a strong bond with her caseworker, friends, and current and former foster families. It would benefit her greatly to have continued contact with these people who have helped her through difficult times in her life and are her source of strength and support. A strong, united family who is committed to sticking it out with Kayla, even through periods of testing and trial, will be rewarded with a sweet young lady who wants to do the right thing and who can someday return all the love that is given to her.
