Tom McTevia, Coeur d'Alene, has submitted the overall correct answer. Along the way there have been several who have correctly identified locations in the photos: McTevia, Chuck Johnson, Ken Hengen, Glenna Johnston, Ray Norton, Steve McGill and John Werner. Photographer E. Jane Gay and the photos she took while she was cook and photographer for Alice Fletcher is the answer for Week 90 of Orofino History Trivia, a special feature to celebrate the history and heritage of Clearwater Country. This week we have been looking for the locations of the photos, who took them and what the people were involved with at the time. The photos were taken from 1889 to 1893 while the Fletcher was doing allotment work with the Nez Perce. Watch for more info about the event and the photographer. Monday: A location along the Clearwater River circa 1890. Kooskia is below. Tuesday: Down river from the first photo. This is a photo of Kamiah as correctly identified by Tom McTevia, Coeur d'Alene, and Chuck Johnson, Orofino High School Class of 1955, now of Fairbanks, AK. Wednesday: Harry Gamble's place is second from the left. Chuck Johnson and Tom McTevia correctly identified this photo of Greer. Thursday: This is another perspective. Where is it? Does anyone know who took all these photos and why? This is another shot of Greer, just a higher angle as identified by Tom McTevia, and Ray Norton. Friday: Some things have changed drastically and some not much. We must be close to home, there were five people that got Ahsahaka at the confluence of the North Fork and the main Clearwater River as the location: Glenna Johnston, Tom McTevia, Ray Norton and Steve McGill. Ray has added that he thinks it is surveying the Nez Perce Reservation for the opening of homesteading. That is partly correct. It did help to open up the reservation to settlers, but the focus of the work was not that, at least not for the person doing it. Saturday: This location is a ways off from the last one. The photographer was a retired teacher who later went to Europe and wrote about the experience. The photo below was identified as Lewiston by John Werner, Ken Hengen Glenna Johnston, Ray Norton, Tom McTevia and Chuck Johnson. Monday: On the caption with the photo it says that the "Indian Sanitarium" is at left and the "McBeth Sisters" home in the center. Tom McTevia, Chuck Johnson, Ken Hengen and Ray Norton identified this photo as Lapwai. Sponsored by:
