Dr. Robert Wayne Lewis, who started his dental practice in Orofino in 1947, was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Manchester, NH. He was the son of Richard Boyd and Lucille (Pennington) Lewis of St. Paul, MI.
Lewis graduated from Central High School in St. Paul in 1937 and received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Minnesota in 1944. He served in the United States Army Dental Corps from 1944 to 1946 as a captain in the European Theatre of Operations. After practicing dentistry in St. Paul for a year, he came to Orofino in 1947.
His professional memberships include the North Idaho Dental Association, Idaho State Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and all Scottish Rite bodies, as well as Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Chamber of Commerce.
Lewis married Edna Marie Johnson on May 17, 1946 in St. Paul.
