Monday: A first in Orofino

Tuesday: 1953

Wednesday: It caught people's attention.

Thursday: There were colors.

Orofino's first and only stop light was installed at the corner of Michigan and Johnson avenues in 1953. The city later had it taken out in hopes of putting in a newer stop light. However, in the ensuing years codes had changed and the type needed was too costly. The corner now has a four-way stop. Former Mayor Roy Clay was always a proponent of replacing the light, but the funds were not a priority with other projects that needed it more.
