City of Orofino's water intake system starts with intakes in a deep area of the Clearwater River where gabian baskets help to dam up the water. The raw water goes through a water pumping station before it goes into the treatment plant. The intake structure is 78 years old and the treatment plant it pumps to is 55 years old.
