Indian Post Office near the eastern side of the Lolo Trail gives the traveler an opportunity to look out over the ridge tops that seem to go on and on. The cairns are one of the distinctive features of the location. Unfortunately, they are also objects of periodic vandalism.

The story is that Native Americans would leave personal trinkets at the location to let others know they had been there as they traveled.

What is your favorite memory of Indian Post Office?
