Wednesday: Ethel Honeywell, Sarah Lindgren, Borghill Huff and Helen McCarthy were the first officers.

Orofino's Business and Professional Women (BPW) Club held their first meeting April 11, 1930. They were sponsored by the Moscow club and first officers were Ethel Honeywell, president; Sarah Lindgren, vice president; Borghill Hoff, secretary; and Helen McCarthy, treasurer. There were 28 charter members.

In 1969-70, Lois Brock of Orofino was elected state president for the Idaho Federation of the club.

Objectives of BPW:

  • To elevate the standards for women in business and the professions
  • To promote the interests of business and professional women
  • To stimulate local and state organizations
  • To bring about a spirit of cooperation among business and professional women in the United States.
  • To extend opportunities in business and professions for women through education along the lines of industrial, scientific and vocational activities
