The Silver Grill was a Chinese restaurant at 214 Johnson Ave. where the new China Palace Restaurant recently opened. It was a popular place in the 1930s and the phone number was "3311". It had a heating stove in the middle of the building.

Later, the building housed a "duck pins" or small bowling alley where the pins were set by hand. Just prior to the China Palace, it was the Clearwater Bakery.
