National Weather Service-Missoula has issue Severe Thunderstorm Warning

National Weather Service-Missoula has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Clearwater County until 7 p.m.

At 6:24 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from near Elk River to 10 miles northeast of Orofino, or along a line from 22 miles north of Orofino to 10 miles northeast of Orofino moving northeast at 35 miles per hour. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Areas of particular impact are: Elk River, Headquarters, Cardiff, Jaype and Dent.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.
