Nez Perce County Deputies locate body of missing Peck man

Nez Perce County Deputies located the body of missing Peck man, Joseph Wren Wednesday in the Clearwater River, according to Chief Deputy Jason Leavitt.

On Wednesday at about noon, a citizen called the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office after seeing an object floating in the Clearwater River between mile markers 25 and 26 on U.S. Highway 12.

Deputies responded to investigate and located Wren's body. The man had been missing since Aug. 8. He was last seen in the rapids of the Clearwater River near the Lenore boat launch.

Several surrounding agencies assisted the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office and Nez Perce County Search and Rescue during the attempted recovery efforts. The Sheriff's Office would like to extend gratitude to the Idaho County Sheriff's Office, Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, Nez Perce Tribal Police, volunteers, citizens and other community members who assisted in the search.
