ISP investigating single-vehicle fatal crash off US 95 in Salmon River

Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash which occurred on Friday, Aug. 7, at 7:23 p.m. on US Highway 95 near milepost 198 north of Riggins.

A 74-year-old man from Riggins was traveling northbound on US95 in a silver 2016 Hyundai Tucson when he went left of center, off the left shoulder and into the Salmon River. Bystanders tried to assist but were unable to remove him from the vehicle, ISP reported.

The man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin has been notified, the news release said.
