Charles W. Musiel was a man who was educated as a teacher, but also had a variety of other jobs. He taught in Juliaetta and Orofino.

He was born in Stites Oct. 20, 1918 to Walter J. and Katherine Sanger Musiel. He graduated from high school in Stites in 1941 and then attended Lewiston Normal School (now Lewis-Clark State College) before starting teaching.

He and his wife Maxine (Bryant) also owned and operated a motel in Coeur d'Alene. When he and his family moved back to Orofino, he went into partnership with Buzz Pruitt operating the B&C Market. He then owned and operated Chuck's Cleaners, a dry cleaner and laundromat, before selling the business in 1972. Then he worked at the Orofino Golf Course and at Dworshak National Fish Hatchery. He also sold real estate.

Chuck enjoyed gardening, golfing, woodworking and traveling with Maxine. He was baptized in the Little Flower Catholic Church in Orofino and was an early member and twice president of the Orofino Lions Club. He was a former member of the Lewiston Elks Lodge, a charter member and first president of the Orofino Maniac Booster Club and served on the Orofino City Council, as well as District #171 School Board.

He died at age 75 of a heart attack at Clearwater Valley Hospital.
