Update (4-26-24: Lewis County Coroner Bruce Long has identified the deceased woman as Ashley M. LaHaie, 32, Lewiston. Idaho State Police does not release names of people involved in vehicle accidents, so the 40-year-old man from Orofino remains officially unidentified.

Lewiston woman loses life in one-vehicle crash on US 12 east of Greer

According to Idaho State Police a 32-year-old Lewiston woman lost her life in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 12 at milepost 54, two miles east of Greer, at 7:43 p.m. Thursday.

ISP is investigating the fatality crash. A blue Nissan Sentra, driven by a 32-year-old female out of Lewiston, was traveling westbound on US 12 when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The female driver was deceased on scene. The passenger, a 40-year-old male out of Orofino was transported to the area hospital, according to an ISP news release.

Seatbelts were not worn by either occupant. The road was blocked for approximately 2.5 hours. Next of kin has been notified, ISP reported.
