Two injured in head-on collision on US 12 near mile marker 17 Tuesday morning

Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision near mile marker 17, about two miles east of Arrow Bridge, on U.S. Highway 12 at about 7:12 a.m. Wednesday, according to Idaho State Police.

ISP responded to the scene in Nez Perce County about three miles west of Cherry Lane. A White Dodge Ram 2500, driven by a 33-year-old male from Kamiah, was traveling eastbound on US 12 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Kenworth semi-truck, being driven by a 65-year-old man from Weippe. The Dodge driver was transported to the hospital by air ambulance and the driver of the Kenworth was transported by ground ambulance, the news release said.

The roadway was closed for about two hours and is currently (2 p.m. Wednesday) reduced to one lane, ISP concluded.
