Cause of a wildfire on hill above Ahsahka under investigation

Cause of a wildfire on the hill above Ahsahka Wednesday afternoon is officially under investigation, according to Tammy Davis, Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association (C-PTPA).

In addition to C-PTPA, Orofino Rural Fire and Sunnyside Rural Fire Department were called out to extinguish blazes that were in two locations, one at 185 Old Ahsahka Grade and one at 719 View Point Rd. The blazes were ¼ acre and 1 ½ acres, Davis said.

No structures were involved and no injuries were reported. Clearwater County Sheriff's Office assisted in the area.
