Bruin Hill Lookout was 17 miles east northeast of Kelly Creek Ranger Station at an elevation of 6,504 feet. It did not need to be elevated, so was built on the grounds. This point was one of the higher ones on the Kelly District. The cabin had a cupola on the top with windows for visibility and an alidade to help determine the location of wildfires.

The cabin was built in 1932 and was gone by 1959. There was also a patrol point on Fern Mountain two miles west southwest. The trail to the cabin is ranked as difficult.
