Monday: Annual event Tuesday: Cemeteries Wednesday: Bags Thursday: Trucks Friday: Four-wheelers Saturday: All ages Monday: Gloves According to former Orofino City Administrator Rick Laam the city became involved with a community cleanup in 1991 when the Idaho Transportation Department was providing trash bags and safety vests to clean up the highway. The city continued to participate with other groups and Orofino Community Cleanup has grown to involve more people. One of the early organizers, Moe Pare', became involved in 1996. He said there were 120 that participated that year. By 2004 there 656 people involved. Along with cleaning around the community, Arbor Day is now also celebrated with awarding of the Tree City USA designation to the city and Urban Forests of Orofino. There are also giveaways of tree seedlings and a raffle for ornamental trees. There is also a hot dog lunch at the park for all those are participating.
