He was a logging truck driver in Orofino from 1940 to 1941. He enlisted in the Army Aug. 28, 1942 in Spokane, WA. His civilian occupation was listed as a semiskilled chauffers and drivers, bus, taxi, truck and tractor. His enlistment records said he was 67 inches tall and 150 pounds. He served during World War II in the Fifth Army in North Africa and Italy until 1945. After the Army he attended the Bulova School of Watch Making and Jewelry Manufacturing and Design school in Los Angeles from 1946 to 1953. He came to Orofino in 1953 and operated his jewelry store on Hospital Dr. until 2005. John married Alice J. Barnett (Bobbitt) in Lewiston on August 22, 1958 with William Cummings and Doris Lyda as signed witnesses. They divorced in 1967. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the American Watchmakers Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Shriners and Gemological Institute of America. John died June 5, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA, and is buried in Riverside Cemetery. Sponsored by:
