Jeanne and Joan creeks were named for Jeanne and Joan Gaus, daughters of a forest engineer that was locating road coures in the area. Jeanne Creek is a short tributary of Kelly Creek on the N Clearwater Drainage. Joan Creek also flows into Kelly Creek and is 5 miles east of Kelly Creek Ranger Station.
