Virtual classes continue at OJSHS next week, OES in person classes with face covering

Orofino Junior/Senior High School will continue virtual classes next week, while Orofino Elementary School will have in person classes, but there will be a requirement of face coverings due to their close connections with OJSHS students and personnel.

Dr. Michael C. Garrett, Superintendent of Joint School District #171 released the following:

"Due to the continued confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 and related quarantines in our student body at OJSHS, we are closing our building and holding classes virtually next week. There will be no activities of any kind throughout this period. We plan to open to regular classes and activities on Monday, October 12, 2020. If you are a close contact risk, Public Health will be notifying you with instructions.

Orofino Elementary will be in session next week with the requirement of face coverings due to close connections with OJSHS students and personnel.

All other JSD171 buildings will continue operating with face to face instruction with Highly Recommended Face Coverings.

We would like to remind all staff and families to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, which could include:

  • Fever
  • Dry cough
  • Tiredness
  • Aches and pains
  • Sore throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Headache
  • Loss of taste or smell

Thank you for your understanding and support."
