Positive COVID-10 cases skyrocket in Clearwater County

Positive COVID-19 cases skyrocketed in Clearwater County Monday with 62 new confirmed cases being reported since last Friday, according to the website for Public Health-Idaho North Central District.

That brings the total cases to 305, with 173 open and 132 recovered. Comparing the statistics from Friday to Monday, Pierce zip code had 41 new cases, Orofino 18 new, Peck went up 2, Weippe up 3, Lenore up 3, Ahsahka 1 and Elk River stayed the same.

Looking at age groups, the one with the highest number of new cases was 13-17-year-olds with 34 (26 male and 8 female) followed by people from 18-29 years old with 7. PH-INCD recorded the rest of the cases in age groups up to the 60s.

A look at the other counties in the district showed that Nez Perce County led with 154 new cases, Latah had 69, Idaho 28 and Lewis went up by 7.
