Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.icwrtc.org/wednesdays-child-1.

Jamareon

Age: 13

"Hi! My name is Jamareon. I was born to play football! I like basketball, swimming and jumping on a trampoline. I love to play video games, Matchbox cars and have fun with my friends. I like to eat cookies dipped in milk."

This exuberant boy has a sweet personality and desire to be in the thick of things when it comes to sports. He will stick to your heart as you help him through life's challenges. A generally happy boy with a ready smile and engaging laugh, he is social and active. He thrives on individual one-on-one attention. He is well-liked by adults, particularly those who have worked with him in school and sports.

Jamareon struggles in school with organization. He is making good strides to get up to grade level and has good academic potential. He will benefit with parental one-on-one help with homework and organization. Sports are a main interest for Jamareon; he channels some of his energy through physical activity. Sports have shown him team work and that he has many areas in which he can shine. Jamareon will do best in a busy athletic-minded family.

Jamareon needs an active, strong and thoughtful family. They could help him maintain healthy family ties with people he cares about, here and in Florida. He would thrive as the youngest or only child in his new family. Jamareon will benefit from kind and thoughtful parental guidance around animal care. He likes cooking in the kitchen with a mom's help and making things such as pine derby cars with a dad.

This engaging boy desperately wants to be loved. Parents will need to have a strong understanding of trauma-based parenting and how to strengthen attachment. His new family will need patience as Jamareon continues to heal and mature within a safe, nurturing environment. His adoption social worker said, "Jamareon is a great kid. He is charming, funny, engaging, and ready to be in a forever family."

Through family fun and experiences that are built on do-overs and a clean slate every day in every way, you will come to know that Jamereon loves to laugh, tells jokes, and wants to please. He loves, loves, loves unexpected outbursts of pure fun!
