Eugene Marquette was born in Ahsahka June 27, 1907 to Frank Edwin Marquette and Charolette Jeanie Meggitt. He shared his memories of the area with an interviewer and typed copy is housed at the Clearwater Historical Museum in Orofino.

Marquette worked as a lineman for the U.S. Forest Service and later at a number of mills as a lumber grader. He left the area with his family in about 1973 and died in Lincoln City, OR in August 1985.
